Wintery Conifer, White Spruce, Hemlock and Minty Moss.
The Taiga Candle by 42Pressed takes its inspiration from secluded conifer forests. Imagine white spruce and hemlock covered with frozen moss and a hint of fresh mint. Housed in a frosted glass vessel with a torn label created to mimic a taiga forest landscape. This label is double layered – dark racing green on the top to mimic the mountains with the bark and brush brown on the bottom to mimic the earth. This layering effect creates a copious amount of texture and depth. Due to the handmade process behind this label, we ask that you keep in mind that each candle label will be slightly different with no two exactly 100% alike.
Crafted to take you on an olfactory journey through the world’s best-loved cities, 42Pressed have created a line of candles to inspire urban wanderlust. The 100% natural soy wax scented candles capture the experience of exploration for those who embark on life’s journey.
- For optimal burning, trim your wick to 1/4″ before each lighting to avoid smoking and overheating.
- Always protect the surface on which the candle sits.
- The first burn of any candle should be long enough for the entire top layer of wax to liquify. This will ensure an even burn for each light.
- Refrain from burning candles longer than 3 hours at a time, and never burn a candle when there is less than ¼” of wax at the base.
- Never leave a candle burning unattended or within reach of drafts, pets, or small children.
- Candle jar will be hot after burning, so allow the wax to cool completely before handling
- Once the flame is extinguished make sure the wick is upright and centered.
Using 100% American grown soy wax, naturally derived essential oils and phthalate-free perfume oils, 42Pressed prides itself on small-batch ethical production carried out by their small team in Charleston. They use the finest quality sustainable ingredients across highly thoughtful and introspective fragrance compositions. Dubbed their “top six favourite US cities” each candle in the ROAM collection boasts meticulously pulled scent notes meant to capture the energy and vibe of each city.

Scent Notes: Turpentine and Olbas oil (resin and juniper to someone else maybe?)
Scent Strength: Strong
I don’t normally buy candles without smelling them ‘in real life’ first, however I fancied a change.
Unfortunately, I didn’t like the strong smell of the unlit Taiga candle at all - more turpentine with a touch of Olbas oil, than conifer, spruce and hemlock. Sense of smell is a personal thing, sadly this candle just wasn’t for me so I didn’t light it.
On a positive note, Osmology responded to my email quickly and the refund was super fast!
(I did google the ingredients of turps and Olbas oil - there is some overlap with the scent notes on Taiga!)
